Seedlings (ages 0-18 months)
We follow your baby’s lead for their daily schedule. While we aim to have lots of playtime, appropriate naps, etc., the babies will dictate the schedule, and each day will be different, depending on their particular needs.
Tiny Tots (ages 16-24 months) & Little Sprouts 1&2 (ages 18-30 months)
We initiate a schedule with much flexibility. We are working with their unique patterns of playing, feeding, and sleeping as a guide to introduce daily activities that will prepare your toddler for the next class. Your child is ready to begin self-help skills, and we will be working on them each day. Our Toddlers and Two’s curriculum incorporates music, language, large and fine motor skills, art, cognitive, and sensory experience on a daily basis. Children will be outside on our front porch with age-appropriate play items.
Harvesters 1 & 2 (24 months-3 years) or Ranchers Main (2.5-3.5)
At this age, children start to make the transition from the freeform toddler schedules into structured daily activities. We will continue to use age-appropriate curriculum, including how to protect our environment with wise choices and center-based learning. As always, weather permitting, we will go outside every day.
Jr. Pre-K 3 (3 years potty trained) Little Ranchers Satellite (3.5 years -5 years potty trained)
Pre-K-4 (4-6 years)
Our Pre-K classes implement a Montessori learning environment for our students. Montessori is a method of education that is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning, and collaborative play. Children make creative choices in their learning while our teachers offer age-appropriate activities to guide in the process. We introduce structured daily activities that prepare your child for the next step by using hands-on learning through centers, small groups, and independent play. This allows students to develop skills in social development, patience, personal growth, phonics, letter recognition, math, science, and life skills. Your child must be fully potty trained to attend these classes. As always, weather permitting, we will go outside every day.
Before & After Care Ages 5-12
We offer before and after care for students who live in Barnegat and attend district schools along with LCA and St. Mary’s. We have dedicated teachers in both AM & PM whose sole responsibility is to supervise and ensure students are placed on and retrieved off the bus safely. You are only charged for the time your child attends Green Thumb. We also offer full day care for school closures.
Summer Camp
At Green Thumb, summers are always fun! We offer a busy summer camp jam-packed full of activities for our students. Each week follows a different theme with a visit from Freckles the Clown. We combine learning fun, arts & crafts, games, water play, picnics, and special camp visitors throughout the summer. Give us a call to find out more, our camp fills up fast!
